As President & CEO of Jim Barton & Associates, Inc., Ben assists individuals, businesses owners and family offices in implementing strategies and techniques used to protect and maximize their wealth. Ben provides them with a broad range of wealth management techniques, investment services and entrepreneurial business consulting.
Ben’s experience in life insurance, estate planning, business succession planning and providing financial advice dates back to the late 1980’s, when he joined his father, Jim in a fast growing, and ever-changing insurance and employee benefits business. With Jim’s retirement in 2003, Ben assumed the leadership of Barton & Associates.
Today, he plays an integral role in guiding affluent clients and business owners through complex tax issues associated with estate planning, financial engineering, venture capital, and efficient ways to mitigate tax risks through the use of life insurance and other financial products. He works directly with attorneys, accountants, bankers and other trusted advisors on the design and implementation of sophisticated wealth preservation and investment strategies. His clientele ranges from the local “mom & pop” family business to Fortune 500 companies, providing the same care and dedication to advanced planning, while assisting each individual entity in their business transition needs.
Ben is a Qualifying & Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, MDRT Court of the Table with numerous industry awards for his sales leadership. He is also a member and past president of the Licking & Knox County Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors; past member of Association for Advanced Life Underwriting in Washington D.C.
Whether hired for the full spectrum of his capabilities or to handle specific tactical planning, Ben’s direct no-nonsense approach to estate planning has earned the respect of CPAs, Attorneys, Bankers, Business Owners, Affluent Clients, and their Trusted Advisors across the country.
At home Ben is married to wife, Jennifer, and raising two teenagers (Charlie & Lilly) to become responsible and resourceful young adults.
